What happens when dreams die young? Feat. Sushant Singh Rajput

I always wonder what happens to that dream; that person; that moment when the soul decides to go after something but couldn’t achieve it. A dream; a passion to go after something is one of the most charming things a human can do. Especially in this junky modern society where everything is cheap except for unadulterated realizations. Amid this, to gather a source of contentment, hope, a passion for something, is feasibly the only way one can maintain their sanity. But what happens when that dream dies young? What happens to that passion which dies halfway on the finishing line? What becomes of that young jubilation which could have been achieved?

Maybe you know by now, this piece can be relevantly dedicated to one man who died on the way to achieve his dreams. He had prepared a to-do list before he reached to his last breath. But the latter breath arrived soon and took him away, while on the course to achieve that young jubilation. Dear Sushant Singh Rajput, I wish the few dreams that you were contented with, gave you the warmth which almost felt like your late mother’s hug. I wish your passion burned so hard that toxic people around you couldn’t fight that fire. I wish the reveries, to which you lived through were as magical as one feels deep in the state of euphoria. Before your light died, I hope your brighter as sunbeam's passion scattered all over the barren field. A field only you knew existed. A field of loneliness, a field of betrayal, a field of toxicity, a field of resentments. You shined so bright that something cast an eclipse on you.

Sushant ticked 12 out of his 50 wishes

But what of your unachieved whims? What of the innocent ideas that kept you up at night? What about your passion for astronomy? What about songs you loved? What about spreading some light and smile in this crappy milieu of ours? What about Sushant? What about…? What about…?

I am not going to say “I miss you,” or “please come back,” I see such comments everywhere on social media and I find that rather cringy. Following his account now and liking his posts now and wishing he wouldn’t have killed himself is just whack. Because you wouldn’t have given a shit if he was living and suffering. Had he came out with his depression, you would have told him “just another celebrity craving for attention,” So don’t give me all that crap. As Anne Frank said, “Dead people receive more flowers than living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude,”

What happens of the person who has so much life left in them, dies? What happens of the life inside of them waiting to be lived? It dies with them. The dream dies with the person. Sushant didn’t just sacrifice his breath, he sacrificed his dreams because somehow this vile world grips your neck so hard that not even your dreams can pull you back.

Are you the center of the universe?

Our mind plays tricks on us all the time. It convinces us that we are the centre of the universe. It tells us that every move of ours is being watched. It tells us that no matter what we do, we can never do enough.

It somehow brings us under the shadowy gaze of insignificant bystanders. Yes, insignificant is the right word for it. People know nothing about your journey. They have zero ideas about what goes inside of you. So, why let them affect you?

Be your own architect. F**K them. Let their opinion go to garbage. This is your life. You are the sole traveler on this path. Those bystanders you feel watched by are just passing through. They're not here to stay.

So, do what your core desires. Do what you want man! Don't you see the power of your will and desires? All the adventures are waiting to be discovered. All the designs are waiting to be made by you, the architect. Don't live for the bystanders. Live for yourself.

Players on the ground don't play for the audience. They play for themselves.

    Be the player.

    Play for yourself.

    Take the reward.

    Good luck amigo!

Who says we can't reach to the stars

What is it about the stars and it's peculiar existence? Its ecstatic beauty is often portrayed in the tales of forever happiness. Or maybe it is over fantasized by the romantic poets? Maybe stars are just another prey of romanticism. Who knows? After all, they are just a burning piece of the heavenly body. Is it precious? Ask the poets. Is it reachable? Ask the scientists. Both will give you different answers when asked upon about the stars. If you are hopeless and not romantic then to you, it may seem nothing more than just "something" that exists only for the sake of existing. It is just another part of your routine that does not interfere with your capitalism-inspired life.

But all in all, its existence depends on what soil your seed has been planted on. The stems of your brain and the roots of your heart will ultimately shape your opinion about the stars. This heavenly body is a terrific topic to make casual talks for scientists at lunch. But for kids, and poets they are a source of wonderment.

Dare I not miss to mention souls hunting for wanderlust. For they hike, miles to set up camp and gaze at the stars. Their body tired from the uphill is welcomed by the galaxies far above. They connect with the dark matters millions of miles away. Their aura speaks to the eyes 👁️ filled with wonderment down below. And who says humans have traveled to space since the dawn of science, they've been doing it before the letter "s" of science was written.

And you think we can't reach the stars?

Ask the poets, they go there every day.

Wu Wei: The art of floating

Wu Wei (Chinese) comprises of two words: Wu and Wei.

Wu: Non, not, negation

Wei: making, forcing

The perfect translation of Wei according to Alan Watts is forcing. Hence, Wu Wei becomes “not forcing” Mr. Watts was a British writer and a speaker.  Many people confuse it with passivity. Many think it is not doing anything. It is the art of, in fact, inaction. Which, if to understand its true meaning, is untrue. Wu Wei is the art of not forcing. We, in life, are desperate at times. Wanting something so earnestly that we try to force the situation. Which, is the opposite of Wu Wei. It is in my opinion the science of acceptance. We are unhappy with our lives, many of us are. We don’t accept it in the way it is. We want something different, something new, something to the left and something to the right. We seldom say “my life is perfect,” We barely make an effort to float with our life.

Watts explained Wu Wei in a way that says, “It is the art of floating, not rowing,” When we row the boat we force it to the direction we desire. Whereas floating has contrasting meanings. It is trusting the direction of the boat and sailing along the water. Wu Wei is the latter one. It is acceptance. It is the art of not forcing. I wrote a quote on my study table that reads:

We cannot see the sunrise and the sunset at the same time

Don’t try to have it all

Embrace what you have. Hold what you get.

                                                                                          Anish Ghimire

I want to end with a quote from William Shakespeare that says, “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at its flood leads to fortune.

Wishing a good day to the few ones who read my blogs

Life is a first and last experience

So many things are first and last experiences. Like birth and death.

Birth happens once.

And so does death.

On paper, birth and death look familiar. Given the fact, both occur once.

But there is a huge, contrasting disparity between these two.

At birth, the birth giver smiles (in peace), but the one born cries in surprise (sadly)

At death, the birth giver cries (sadly), but the dead lays there lifeless (in peace)

So, how does this even work?

Both are similar and at contrast at the same time.

Makes my head spin, when I think about this. Life, as it is, in a way given to us, which cannot be used further to any logical means. Beyond what we have and what we've been given, we cannot alter it any other fashion. It is a first and last experience, and yet it is not so fulfilling at times. But what can we say, it's just an experience. And we cannot guarantee whether any given experience will be up to our expectations. But is life a fulfilling experience? Or is it not?

Do we meet death, and say to ourselves, 'Wow, what an experience' or do we simply lie in peace. Sometimes, I don't know what to make of it.

Are we simply to accept it?

The house, the people, music, clothes, politics, intimacy, money, and other materials.

Do these sustain our life? Or do we really need them?

Do we really need anything though?

What are the pieces of baggage to be held and left alone in this first and last experience?

The little things (Take care of them)

Sometimes the means to obtain contentment or joy seems like a lot of ask. But as I have come to known, it doesn’t take a lot to be happy. Possessions, pleasure, and forgetting of the sorrow may not exactly be the way to go about it. I have been down that road a lot of times, trying to escape the melancholy and indulging in pleasures. That does not help, believe me, if not, it will only drag you further down. The only way to achieve contentment for me is in little things. One of the main is, if I know we will be having chicken for lunch/dinner that gets me in the right mood. Or when the rain pours down, as you’re in your room, and you grab a book, or play some games, or listen to the music when rain hits your window.

A couple of days ago I rode about 70 kilometers, and I felt so much joy, it made me forget about almost everything that holds me back. Today, I was coming back from Koteshwor, and the rain just poured out of nowhere. I put on my visor to shield myself from the rain. As I did, I screamed in joy, because I was just happy as the rain crashed into my body and made my existence a bit praisable. And my scream was concealed by the visor, but my entire body felt its vibration. My mind received the signal that today was a good day. My mental health probably thought, “Unlike other days, today was a good day at work,”

I guess what I am trying to say is that joy may not be in the most superficial things. It may be in the catching of breath after an intense run, or at the laugh of your favorite person (who did you think about when I said favorite person? Leave in the comments re kya. Just kidding) you don’t have to search for contentment. Most likely you won’t find it if you have to look for it.

I won’t post this link on Facebook, so if you read it on your own. I wish you all the happiness in this world.

This day is your entire life

Some days the time moves abruptly. You wake up and realize that today has passed before you knew. But it's not the day that you miss. You miss the feelings, interactions, opportunities, and moments to rejoice, is what you miss. Our mind is foggy with thoughts and our day is run by that foggy brain. With that, we don’t really get to grasp the true essence of the day. What did you learn today? I don’t know I was in a fugue state. Yesterday was kind of like that for me. I watched six episodes of a TV series yesterday. And the only thing I felt was when a character was murdered, and I felt quite upset because she died. The death of a tv character was all I felt yesterday. I mean, that was the most significant thing I take notice of as of now.

We think too much and feel too little. As Alan Watts said “A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts. And he loses touch with reality.” Some days go by. But the next day, if we’re willing to, it gets better. But what about “Seize the day” type mentality. I couldn’t seize the day yesterday. Does that mean I have failed? Or what about “It’s just a bad day. It will get better tomorrow.” I mean what is the deal here? Am I supposed to seize the day or am I supposed to let the bad ones go? Should I seize the bad day too?

I have pasted a note on my working table that says “This day is your entire life.” That means taking into account each day because we can only live today. We cannot live yesterday nor tomorrow. If so what about bad days? That one day according to my note, is my entire life. So is wasting a day, wasting a life? Is one bad day, one bad life? Because this day is all the life we can live. The present-day. I don’t know. Maybe I have too many thoughts.

At a Glance: The French Emperor

Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military and political leader. He ran several campaigns early in his military career which put him in a commanding position to change the tide of history. Especially after the French Revolution (1789-1799). This blog is not about his life nor am I here to exclusively list out his heroic works. In this section, I focused on his personality, and what we can learn from him. Or let’s say, what made Napoleon “Napoleon"

 People on his existence:

When his counterparts were asked about his personality, they said he was a “rare combination of will, intellect and physical vigor.”

“The most competent human being who ever lived.

“There is something very fetching and very eager about him that is impossible to resist.”

Work ethic:

He maintained strict, efficient work habits, prioritizing what needed to be done.

Mentality:

He had to win at everything. Not giving up even if the odds were stacked against him.

Handling Critics:

His critics were not so fond of him. They said he won all his famous battles simply because of luck.

He responded: “Luck comes to those who recognize opportunity and seize it.”

Giving Life changing quotes:

-        Until you spread your wings, you’ll have no idea how far you can fly.

-        Friends must always be treated as if one day they might be enemies. (Personally my favorite)

-        History is a set of lies agreed upon. (This blows my mind)

We are reading his history. What if most of it is a lie? Intriguing music plays.

Banter:

The classy British were not so fond of him. In fact, it was them who led to his downfall. The British came up with a rhyme that warned children that Bonaparte ate naughty people.

 His last words:

“France, the army, head of the army, Josephine,”

Josephine: His ex-wife who cheated on him. He valued her a great deal throughout his life.

Fun fact: (or a tragic fact)

When Napoleon found out about her affair, he wrote her a letter but the British intercepted it and displayed it publicly. They did it to embarrass him publicly.

I need not explain what we can learn from him. The brief description of his life says it all.

We are all distracted beings.

We live in a time where distractions overwhelm us. There are a lot of distracting components in our environment that stops us from doing what we are supposed to do. In life, we have surrendered numbers of time to these distractions in spite of being aware. What I feel is, we are just a bunch of distracted beings roaming around fulfilling our short term desires.

Politicians are distracted from their prime work, students are distracted from studying, boys are distracted to girls and girls are to boys. What causes us to kick our work and then do something that serves no meaning in the long term? I think I know. Because its easy. Its easy to be distracted and not do your main work. But to sit down and do the task takes effort and not many of us commit to that. Its easy to not work and fill the pockets and let country go in ruins. Its easy to slide the books under the bed and lie down with phone watching nonsense. Its easy to chase after girls and boys and try to involve with them rather than waiting and settling with the right person. Wrong things are easy to do that's why many people do it. This is why this world is doomed and wicked.

Can we just stop getting distracted? Can we work for our purpose? Of course we can. But it requires serious commitment and a lot of hardships. In my opinion, not having a serious thing to commit to causes distraction. If we really want something with our heart then distraction has an insignificant meaning. If you really want to get good grades and study likewise, then other stuffs will be sucked by your passion and commitment. This is why its important to find your area of interest. Politicians shouldn't involve in politics unless they are willing to perform honestly. Students should pick the right major so that they could study without much distraction. If someone is forcing us to do something then it is likely we will get distracted. So do what you feel like doing. And commit to it. Believe in it. And eliminate the distractions. Getting over them will reward in the long term. Sacrifice short term pleasure for long term growth and prosperity.
