We’ve come a long way since humanity prospered from primitive stage to modern society. In paper, that sounds like a great deal. But we’ve deteriorated our surroundings to a much greater extent. One of the major component of this planet, that drowns in adversity because of our existence is animals.
Since our expansion of settlement from East Africa to further lands, we began butchering the very lives of native animals. Our expansion throughout the globe has resulted in mass extinction of ever so precious animals. There were, once, plenty of unique animals who are now limited only in pictures and in our imagination. Our so called ‘growth’ to farther lands destroyed a part of beautiful ecosystem. We butchered, yes, butchered is the right word. We butchered natural livelihood for our settlement. We became so obsessed with growth and evolution that we forgot to consider the animal world. We exploited their lives and habitat. Only for us to have a modern society to breathe in. And now, animals like red panda, rhinos, tiger, etc are in threat. Thanks to us
Poachers, illegal traders, people abiding outside the law constantly hunt and sell the parts of animals. All of that killing only for money. How did we become so ruthless? Have we forgotten that we are also animals? The only difference between us and wildlife is the brain and a complex society. They carry emotions as we do, bodies like us, mental and physical well being like us, family to take care of, and many more. If we pet them from their birth, even a lion can become one of us. A lion is less lethal to me than a human. A lion attacks you if she is hungry, but a human will attack a lion just because she is bored. Animals are loyal counterpart. More trustworthy than humans. They complete this world with their innocence and yet we choose to ruthlessly kill and destroy their habitat. Guess, I will never understand how humans work in their large brain and big heart.
