What is the main essence of our activities? Why do we do what we do? Our actions are interdependent with our existence. If we cease to exist then so will our actions. So aren’t our actions temporary? Aren’t they mortal? Isn’t all of this only while we’re here? So why do we do what we do? If our doings aren’t meant to stay forever and soon enough people will forget us then why do we spend so much time in our doings? Why do we worry and bitter our existence if one day we are going to be dust particles? Why do people do what they do if their doings are mortal?
Is it because our works lighten our
pain? Do our mortal works provide us a haven from the absurdity of this life? If
we sit idle then our existence becomes weighted and we cannot function
properly? Is it so? Or is it something else? I want to ask what guides us to
move forward with our doings. Why do we always do something? Why can’t we be
null? Just do nothing, like a vacuum in space. Can’t we be so?
I am sitting in my living room typing
this on my computer. Why am I doing this? What better can come of it? My words
will get erased one day, my computer will get damaged and my life will vanish
one day. This means absolutely nothing in the long run. So why am I doing this?
The economy, education, money, property, and every mortal asset that binds our
life together will be dust particles someday. In the long run, none of it
matters. It only matters as long as we’re here. It only matters when we exist.
This world doesn’t matter in the long run. Why? Because we’re all dead in the
long run. So what is the main essence of our activities? Or what is the essence
of this life?
