What happens when dreams die young? Feat. Sushant Singh Rajput

I always wonder what happens to that dream; that person; that moment when the soul decides to go after something but couldn’t achieve it. A dream; a passion to go after something is one of the most charming things a human can do. Especially in this junky modern society where everything is cheap except for unadulterated realizations. Amid this, to gather a source of contentment, hope, a passion for something, is feasibly the only way one can maintain their sanity. But what happens when that dream dies young? What happens to that passion which dies halfway on the finishing line? What becomes of that young jubilation which could have been achieved?

Maybe you know by now, this piece can be relevantly dedicated to one man who died on the way to achieve his dreams. He had prepared a to-do list before he reached to his last breath. But the latter breath arrived soon and took him away, while on the course to achieve that young jubilation. Dear Sushant Singh Rajput, I wish the few dreams that you were contented with, gave you the warmth which almost felt like your late mother’s hug. I wish your passion burned so hard that toxic people around you couldn’t fight that fire. I wish the reveries, to which you lived through were as magical as one feels deep in the state of euphoria. Before your light died, I hope your brighter as sunbeam's passion scattered all over the barren field. A field only you knew existed. A field of loneliness, a field of betrayal, a field of toxicity, a field of resentments. You shined so bright that something cast an eclipse on you.

Sushant ticked 12 out of his 50 wishes

But what of your unachieved whims? What of the innocent ideas that kept you up at night? What about your passion for astronomy? What about songs you loved? What about spreading some light and smile in this crappy milieu of ours? What about Sushant? What about…? What about…?

I am not going to say “I miss you,” or “please come back,” I see such comments everywhere on social media and I find that rather cringy. Following his account now and liking his posts now and wishing he wouldn’t have killed himself is just whack. Because you wouldn’t have given a shit if he was living and suffering. Had he came out with his depression, you would have told him “just another celebrity craving for attention,” So don’t give me all that crap. As Anne Frank said, “Dead people receive more flowers than living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude,”

What happens of the person who has so much life left in them, dies? What happens of the life inside of them waiting to be lived? It dies with them. The dream dies with the person. Sushant didn’t just sacrifice his breath, he sacrificed his dreams because somehow this vile world grips your neck so hard that not even your dreams can pull you back.

Paras Khadka : The magic man of Nepal

"Paras Khadka the magic man of Nepal" one of the commentators proudly announced on the world cup game of 2014. That time when the entire nation cheered and sang proudly the national anthem with hands on their chest. That group of men led by our phenomenal captain has achieved great feat over the years. Not just on the field but also off the field. To promote the game and to bring Nepalese people together, he was always there and forever will be.

Today, the magic man has announced his retirement from all international cricket. This retirement hurt the most. I was a little sad when in 2018 Ab de Villiers announced his retirement. But this, by far, cuts the deepest.

I remember, when desperate to meet the magic man, I went place to place with my cousin, just trying to get a glimpse of him. And months later, finally, I was able to shake his hand on bhrikutimandap at the college exhibition. That day, I still recall, is one of the best days of my life.

A moment with the man himself

Sadly, I couldn't catch a glimpse of him on the field. I missed the opportunity to watch him play and hit those long towering sixes.

I used to turn on the TV and yell and scream when he hit those runs. The confidence, the ferocious display of sportsmanship, and the passion to deliver for the nation, he had it all. A century against Namibia, a century against Singapore, and that breathtaking last over against the Netherlands providing us with our first ODI win. These are just a  few notable moments, there are numerous more moments like these, that make the man he is today.

The magic man, the greatest sports personality this nation has ever produced.

Nepali cricket and all of its fanatics will miss him dearly.

All the best for your second innings Paras dai.

Now it's time to support Nepali cricket off the field.

Gem of our nation

Cancel the noise feat. Steve Smith

Sportspersons and athletes are admired around the world for their performance on the field. Very few know or even care about their personal lives. Fans of any sports, whether it is football or cricket are pulled towards one particular team or player. When I first started watching cricket, I developed an instant liking for the Australian team. Soon the world cup of 2015 started and I watched this brilliant team of excellent individuals pierce their way to the title of the world cup.

I developed a liking for this young bloke with a rather small head and a quick eye. His name was Steve Smith. He had this unusual way of going about his business. And it made him quickly stand out from everyone else. Years followed and his out-of-the-box performances gravitated me towards it. And then the upsetting day came in the March of 2018. The captains of the Australian team as their ship sailed along Cape Town came on the verge of drowning.

The captain; Steve Smith, Vice-Captain; David Warner, and the talk of the town; Cameron Bancroft were banned lightly by the ICC but Cricket Australia had other motives. Cricket Australia banned Steve and David each for 1 year and Bancroft for 9 months, on the charges for ball-tampering. It is a method to exploit the ball in your favor. That is against the spirit of the game.
They weren't allowed to play international cricket for a year. A huge shock and loss to the cricketing world.

He was despised by the crowd, fans were shocked, and the opposition sat back and watched it all burn to hell. He was handled by the SA police and later he broke down at the press conference in front of his dad. A year later after all the humiliation, setback, and a lot of lesson learning, he was back at the international platform. He made his way back with the World Cup of 2019, in England. England and Australia are frenemies. They booed him, abused him, and called him names. He had a decent world cup, but then came the Ashes (England Vs Australia). There, we saw who Steve Smith can really be.

The crowd was vocal, and they booed him but he kept his mental state right and batted and batted. England team and crowd were frustrated. They just couldn't get him out in that series. They tried to bad mouth him but they didn't succeed. He cancelled all the noise and got immersed in his bubble. Later in an interview, he said, with the crowd so wild, and against him, it made him focus more. It pushed him further to prove a point. Such a key lesson that we have to absorb here. I remember I had my first-year board exams at the time and my mom said to turn off the TV and go to study. I told her "I will turn it off, once Steve Smith gets out." And that TV would be on for hours. Because we weren't going to see the back of him any sooner.

His work ethic and hunger for the game has made him who he is. And most importantly, how he handled the ones who wanted his downfall. He ignored them and kept doing what he did best. It isn't as easy as it seemed, because it didn't work out very well for the remaining two of the men. David looks rusty and still hasn't come back to his usual game. And Cameron, well, that bloke doesn't even play anymore. But again, not everyone is Steve Smith.

At a Glance: The French Emperor

Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military and political leader. He ran several campaigns early in his military career which put him in a commanding position to change the tide of history. Especially after the French Revolution (1789-1799). This blog is not about his life nor am I here to exclusively list out his heroic works. In this section, I focused on his personality, and what we can learn from him. Or let’s say, what made Napoleon “Napoleon"

 People on his existence:

When his counterparts were asked about his personality, they said he was a “rare combination of will, intellect and physical vigor.”

“The most competent human being who ever lived.

“There is something very fetching and very eager about him that is impossible to resist.”

Work ethic:

He maintained strict, efficient work habits, prioritizing what needed to be done.

Mentality:

He had to win at everything. Not giving up even if the odds were stacked against him.

Handling Critics:

His critics were not so fond of him. They said he won all his famous battles simply because of luck.

He responded: “Luck comes to those who recognize opportunity and seize it.”

Giving Life changing quotes:

-        Until you spread your wings, you’ll have no idea how far you can fly.

-        Friends must always be treated as if one day they might be enemies. (Personally my favorite)

-        History is a set of lies agreed upon. (This blows my mind)

We are reading his history. What if most of it is a lie? Intriguing music plays.

Banter:

The classy British were not so fond of him. In fact, it was them who led to his downfall. The British came up with a rhyme that warned children that Bonaparte ate naughty people.

 His last words:

“France, the army, head of the army, Josephine,”

Josephine: His ex-wife who cheated on him. He valued her a great deal throughout his life.

Fun fact: (or a tragic fact)

When Napoleon found out about her affair, he wrote her a letter but the British intercepted it and displayed it publicly. They did it to embarrass him publicly.

I need not explain what we can learn from him. The brief description of his life says it all.

Get out of your mental prison

Get out of your mental prison
Analytic Wisdom from Master Oogway | by Corsair's Publishing | Creative Analytics

Once the great master Oogway said "You are too concerned about what was and what will be." You can say such is the human nature. We have faced the enormous pain of the past and fearful happenings of the future. Our mind is designed that way. We are just a bunch of nature's creation that find ourselves constantly being the prisoners of our own mind. Many gurus and so called influencers have been teaching us the power of letting go of the past and the future, to focus only on present breathing. But our mind refuses to do so. Especially if you are raised in a society or a family that constantly compares you with someone else and puts a heavy weight of "you have to be a big deal in future" kind of crap.

Lets face it, if we think about our past happenings, our adverse moments seem to strike us the most than the good ones. We are then burdened with guilt, shame and bam! you find yourself in a prison. Now, this prison is different. This is a mental prison. And believe me, these prisons have the thickest walls and a strict jailer. So running out of it is hard, but not impossible.

Now, the future. We reminiscence about our past and think about not repeating them in the future. We picture ourselves living a smooth, adverse-free life. My dear friend, I wish for it too. But it is simply not possible. We sit back and think about our future, oops! think is not the right word. Worry, worry is the right word. So, we sit back and worry about our future and bam! you find yourself in a prison again.

Stop going to prison when you haven't committed any crime. Run
out of it, like Gabbar Singh. That dude was strong as hell. He ran out of jail when he murdered a whole family. But you, haven't committed any murders, have you? (suspenseful music plays) If your answer is no (which should be) then stop going to prison. Do not be the prisoner of something you cannot control. Let go, be free and live!
